Each week, our sports editorial department will nominate 3 males and 3 females from local High Schools to be our Athletes of the Week contestants. 

Voting will take place from Thursday through Monday each week and the winners and new nominees will be announced online that Thursday.

Each Day, you can vote for one male and one female. 

Each Thursday, in the sports section of the Record-Journal, the previous week's winners will be featured as well as the following week's nominees. You will also find this in the Cheshire Citizen and Southington Citizen each week as well.

Each week, one male and one female will receive the title of Athlete of the Week!

$5,000 Scholarship from Wallingford Buick GMC

All Athletes of the Week nominees are eligible to apply to win a $5,000 scholarship from Wallingford Buick GMC, which will be awarded at the Record-Journal Best of the Bunch Brunch on June 25 at the Aqua Turf. Nominees can apply at www.myrecordjournal.com/brunchscholarship
